There’s an Internet sensation going on where people capture videos when they put cucumbers next to a cat, just to watch the cat panic and freak out. While it’s never a good idea to deliberately frighten your cat, you may be curious as to why cucumbers strike such fear in the hearts of a cat.
Apparently cats don’t like being surprised and they also fear snakes, so seeing a cucumber suddenly show up nearby reminds them of being surprised and seeing a snake. So don’t put a cucumber near your cat. I may be amusing, but it’s scary for your cat.
