In 1910, a group of enterprising airmen decided to become the first crew to fly a lighter-than-air craft across the Atlantic Ocean. When the blimp took off, they found themselves with a cat named Kiddo.

Kiddo initially freaked out being trapped in the small cabin of the blimp and the crew even tried to hand the cat off to a trailing boat. When that failed, the crew kept Kiddo with them as the craft drifted off course and into the Ocean where boats rescued them.

Although Kiddo and the crew didn’t succeed in crossing the Atlantic Ocean, Kiddo became a celebrity for being with the crew during the attempt. That just goes to show that cats will always take credit for something they really didn’t do other than existing.
