One hundred years ago, the Carroll A. Deering, a five-masted schooner, ran aground on the Diamond Shoals. That alone might not be out of the ordinary but the ship had originally set sail with a ten man crew and a cat. When officials spotted the ship, they were shocked to find the entire crew missing. Only the cat survived.

Theories abound as to what happened to the crew whether they were attacked by pirates, mutinied, or disappeared somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle. Yet the cat was the only witness left and it wasn’t talking.
