Four years ago, Arkansas man Butch Meister thought he had lost his cat, named Captain, for good. This occurred while Butch was deployed overseas in the military and his ex-partner told him Captain had died.
Then some kids found Captain by the side of the road and took him to a vet where the vet found a microchip showing that Captain was still alive. With the help of social media, the vet was able to contact Butch who will now be reunited with is cat.
The lessons is clear. If you want to keep your cat, get it microchipped. You never know when it might help you get your cat back years later.
