Outside the Nueva Esperanza jail, which houses more than 1,700 prisoners in Panama City, authorities caught a drug smuggler. Normally drug smugglers wouldn’t cause much of a problem but this drug smuggler turned out to be a cat that someone had tied drugs around its belly and sent it towards the prison.

The drugs included cocaine, crack and marijuana. Authorities said smugglers have tried a variety of methods in the past including pigeons and drones, but a cat is a new twist. Officials said the cat will be adopted and will hopefully turn away from a life of crime and go back to knocking vases off tables like a law-abiding cat would do.
