It’s often easy to see if your cat is happy. If it’s knocking valuable and fragile items off the table and shelf, it’s probably happy. If it’s shredding drapes and sofas, it’s probably happy. Still if you want a more scientific way to measure a cat’s happiness, there’s now an app for that.

An animal health technology company, Sylvester.ai, has developed an app called Tably that uses the phone’s camera to tell whether a feline is feeling pain. By using machine learning and a series of images, the app can detect grimaces in a cat’s face to determine if it needs help or if it’s just being grumpy and moody that day.
