When Hank the cat got stuck in a 60-foot tree, it took five days and more than 30 people to rescue him. Neighbors, friends, animal rescue volunteers and strangers tried a half-dozen different ways — that included the use of tall ladders, baskets and catnip, to get Hank down.
What ultimately worked was sticking some catnip, a blanket, and a scratching pad in a basket that they raised near Hank. When Hank jumped it, they lowered the basket and rescued him from the tree. Hopefully Hank won’t climb any trees in the near future, but if he does, at least his owner knows how to get him back down again.
