If you’re planning to be away for a while, you might wonder how long you can let a cat stay by itself in your house? Although cats are mostly independent creatures, they need interaction with people occasionally just to remind their human servants who’s really in charge.
Not surprisingly, cats are perfectly fine being left alone for a day since they tend to sleep most of the day anyway. Once you get beyond a day, then it’s best to provide some human interaction with your cat such as having a pet sitter come in to clean litter boxes, provide fresh food and water, and play with your feline. Although cats may ignore you most of the time, they do enjoy human interaction so don’t leave your cat alone for too long or it might retaliate in ways you cannot even imagine.
