Maine Coon cats are one of the largest cat breeds around. However, one Maine Coon cat, named Kefir after the yogurt drink, is only two years old but already weighs 12.5 kilograms.
Considering the fact that Maine Coons keep growing up until age 4, that means Kefir could grow even larger. Living in Russia, Kefir might need all that fur and body weight to stay warm. Just don’t mistake him for a dog even though he’s larger than some dogs. He’s still a fluffy cat at heart.
