Cats sleep 25 hours a day, sometimes longer. Yet if you study cats, they tend to switch different sleeping positions all the time. Like reading tea leaves, it’s possible to decipher the meaning of your cat’s sleeping positions like a soothsayer.

The most common sleeping position is the curled up ball position. This conserves their body heat, which also has the advantage of making themselves a smaller target for predators. The loaf position means they’re napping but ready to spring into action at any moment.
