Health care is expensive. That’s why so many Americans go without health care. Yet cats need health care so many Americans wind up giving their felines better health care than they can afford for themselves.

When nine-year-old cat lover Sutter Rowse saw a story about a stray cat in his community of Williams Lake, British Columbia, that was in dire need of surgery, he wanted to help. With the help of his mom, Sutter baked around 15 dozen (or 180) cinnamon buns and sold them for $850, which he donated to help pay for the cat’s surgery. Now if only American health care could be as cheap.
