The world loves cats. The world also loves cats who hold world records for one reason or another. In Vigevano, Pavia, Italy, there’s a Maine Coon measuring 120 centimeters. or 3 feet, 11.2 inches. This longest cat is named Barivel.

There’s also Marty, the longest living Janus cat (a cat with two faces, much like human politicians), and Merlin, a cat with the loudest recorded purr at 67.8 db(A), which is as loud as a high-revving motorcycle. With so many notable cats to admire, don’t forget to take some time to honor and respect your own cat as well.
