Patches, a white and gray cat, arrived at the Richmond Animal Care and Control in Virginia on April 4 when his owner became homeless. Amazingly, Patches weighed 40.3 pounds while the average house cat only weighs between 8 and 10 pounds.
The shelter immediately put Patches on a weight-loss and exercise program and fortunately patches was quickly adopted. Now Patches’s new owner will continue his weight loss program until he gets his weight down to a healthy level. If Patches can get healthy, perhaps he can inspire others to do the same thing.
