There are an amazing number of different cat breeds in the world. Some cat breeds have short hair, some have long hair, and some have no hair at all. Perhaps one of the rarest cats of all might be the tiny sand cats that somehow manage to thrive in Morocco.

Sand cats weigh up to 7.5 pounds and look like smaller versions of ordinary housecoats. Yet these sand cats have adapted to the harsh desert climate. Because they’re so rare, they might be considered a threatened species, which means people should help keep sand cats alive so they can continue sharing their cute faces with the rest of the world.
