If you happen to live in North Carolina, you can visit the North Carolina Zoo and see three sand kittens that were recently born. Sand cats represent the world’s tiniest felines, weighing up to eight pounds and reaching an average length of 20 inches. Just like any cat, don’t let their cute appearance deceive you.

Sand cats are known as ferocious animals because cats are the only creatures born with switchblades at the end of each paw. While you wouldn’t want to keep sand cats as pets, you can view them in the safety of the North Carolina Zoo. The zoo is currently holding a contest to name the sand kitten so submit a name and see if you win.
