For some odd reason, many people think that animals don’t have emotions. If you want to disprove that idea in a hurry, just get a cat and refuse to give it what it wants. You’ll suddenly see that a cat can exhibit all kinds of emotion that usually borders on the psychotic.
Obviously cats can feel emotions and they often show those emotions through their body language. When cats lay on their backs to expose their bellies, that shows they trust you. Either that or they hold you in such contempt that they have no fear that you represent a threat to them in any way.
But the bottom line is that cats do experience emotions and if you read their body language, you can interpret their emotions. Just because cats can’t speak doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings.
