The New Cat in “The Marvels”

When Disney filmed “Captain Marvel” in the United States, they hired an orange tabby to play Goose, Captain Marvel’s cat who is actually an alien called a Flerken. However, when Disney filmed the sequel, “The Marvels,” they filmed in the United Kingdom. That meant hiring a local cat to play the role of Goose.

A cat named Tango and a backup named Nemo got the role because they looked like the original cat in “Captain Marvel.” So when you see “The Marvels,” just keep in mind that you’re watching British cats, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the appearance of cats in another film. For cat lovers, the real hero of “The Marvels” isn’t Captain Marvel but Goose the cat anyway.
