One cat owner posted a video of their Maine Coon cat staring in the mirror and pawing at its reflection. The question is did the cat recognize its reflection or did it think there was another cat, that just happened to look and move exactly like it did, on the other side of the glass?
According to scientists, not all animals recognize their reflection in a mirror. Dolphins, gorillas, and even magpies did, but dogs and cats did not. Then again, some humans probably can’t recognize their reflection either so that doesn’t represent the entire human race.
