Black cats unfortunately have a reputation of bad luck, which means fewer people adopt black cats. However there’s another reason why black cats can be troublesome to own. One woman shared a viral video showing how she mistakes her black cat for a pair of black shorts on the floor.
Other people have shared similar experiences where they mistake a black purse for their black cat or a black scarf for their black cat. Black cats use their coloring to hide themselves at night when they hunt but apparently their black color also lets them hide themselves from their human owners during the day as well.
