Some cats love jumping on counters, especially in the kitchen where their feet can step all over food preparation areas. So if you want to keep cats off a counter, try placing tin foil on the surface.
Apparently cats don’t like the crinkling noise or feel of tin foil under their paws. If you watch the video below, you can see one cat’s started reaction when it touches tin foil and jumps away in fear. So try tin foil to discourage your cat from jumping on counters. It just might work.
