What do Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Hitler, Julius Caesar, Mussolini, and Napoleon all have in common? Besides being ruthless dictators, they all suffered from ailurophobia, which is the fear of cats. Strangely, cats often gravitate towards people who are afraid of cats. Perhaps dictators are afraid of cats because they recognize a being that’s more self-centered and selfish than they are.
