John Buckland and his partner were at an American Legion event, entertaining children while dressed as superheroes Batman and Captain America, when a nearby house caught on fire. Buckland had served nearly a decade as a fire fighter, so he rushed into the house and managed to pull out a cat before smoke drove him out.
Although Buckland managed to save one cat, there were two others inside that he wasn’t able to save. Still, the idea that Batman and Captain America saved the life of one cat is enough to make you realize that super heroes still exist in this world.
