In the beginning of 2012, a mysterious hacker in Japan taunted police, claiming he was going to blow up a holy shrine and attack a kindergarten. While none of these threats occurred, it did force police to respond to these potential threats.
The mastermind behind these activities has now created a new game for the Japanese police to solve. Claiming to have developed a new computer virus to infiltrate computers without being detected, this hacker gave clues to the source code of the virus for police to find. Eventually, police discovered that the virus source code has been stored on a memory card attached to a cat’s collar.
Police believe the hacker is continuing to play games with them, but have so far neglected to say that perhaps the cat really is the hacker.
