Everyone knows that cats can be affectionate, but what most cat lovers already understand is that even cats have feelings. When two conservationists, Valentin Gruener and Mikkel Legarth, found a lion cub whose family had been killed, they decided they could not let the lion cub die so they adopted it. Now the lion cub, Sirga, has grown into a full lion, yet still plays with the two men as if she were a family pet.
The next time someone tells you that cats only like you because you give them food, introduce them to a full grown lion like Sirga, who can hunt and bring down prey like a regular lion, yet has no trouble hugging her two rescuers. Sirga’s story shows that all animals have feelings, except for certain human beings when they grow up and become politicians.
