With the recent cold spell hitting most of North America, it’s important to stay warm and that includes keeping your cat safe as well. In Minot, North Dakota, a cat had gotten its paws wet trying to fish in a heated pond. When the poor cat stepped on a rock, its paws froze to the rock where it remained for several hours before someone discovered the helpless cat.

Despite the police freeing the cat and taking it to a veterinarian, the cat succumbed to the affect of prolonged exposure to the cold weather. Although the cold spell is leaving most of North America, this is just a reminder that the cold weather means taking extra care of your cat so it can stay warm and safe.
