Everyone knows that cats are expensive because you have to keep buying them food and litter while also replacing your drapes, sofa, and other items that the cat likely knocked over and broke. However, certain cat breeds are more expensive than others.

One of the more expensive cat breeds is the Bengal, which can cost up to $25,000. The next most expensive cat breed is a Peterbald, which goes for up to $5,000.

Of course, you can adopt an ordinary cat for much less and get as much joy out of an ordinary cat as you would from a pure breed cat. Unless you plan to enter cat shows with your pet, an ordinary cat can be just as much fun to own (or as frustrating to own, depending on how much furniture your cat destroys) as a pure breed cat.

So consider adopting a cat today regardless of its blood lines. Your cat will thank you for giving it a good home no matter how much you paid for it.
