When Pauline and Bill Lowe, both 66, donated three-seater settee to St Luke’s Hospice charity shop in Grays, Essex, they accidentally donated more than a piece of furniture. Somehow, trapped in the sofa was their ten-year old cat Crockett.

Crockett spent five days trapped in a sofa donated to a charity shop before being found by the couple who bought it. When the couple freed the cat, they contacted the charity shop, which helped reunite Crockett back with his family.

The next time you get rid of any item, check to make sure your cat isn’t hiding inside of it. The way cats can hide in practically any space, don’t be surprised to find a pair of claws sticking out of items that you normally wouldn’t associate with a cat.
