Back in 2001, researchers at Texas A&M cloned the world’s first cat called CC for Carbon Copy. Despite being an exact duplicate of the original cat, CC has slightly different fur color and a drastically different personality. Personality gets formed by environment and conditions in the womb, so creating an exact duplicate of any animal with the same behavior and appearance seems nearly impossible.

Still, a cloned cat that has lived this long without major medical issues is a triumph that could lead the way to creating other cloned animals and even humans. Just like twins may look the same but behave differently, so will cloned humans. The only sure bet with cloned cats is that a cloned cat will be just as obnoxious and demanding as a real cat.
