In the United Kingdom, animal shelters claim that black cats are less adoptable because their pictures make them appear less distinct so they don’t photograph as well. In addition, black cats suffer from the stigma of being bad luck or symbols of witchcraft when we all know that the real symbols of witchcraft revolve around Ann Coulter.

Strangely, American animal shelters claim black cats are no harder to put up for adoption than other types of cats, so maybe this is yet another odd difference between the American and British people. If you’re looking for a cat to adopt, consider a black cat. Even if they aren’t as photogenic as selfies, they can still be loving pets.
