If your cat is missing, one plan is to create what’s known as a kitty buffet. The idea is to put out all types of food that will attract animals including raccoons and possums. Put out dried cat food, canned cat food, and treats such as fish and chicken.
Then sprinkle catnip around the food and put used cat litter nearby. While this will attract lots of unwanted animals, the goal is to also attract your missing cat. If you put your kitty buffet in a quiet area with a camera watching the buffet, you can theoretically spot your cat among the other animals enjoying the free kitty buffet you put out for every animal in the neighborhood.
