In Florida, police were alarmed when they received a 911 call and nobody answered. Fearful of the worst, the 911 operator tried another number associated with that address and wound up reaching the local animal shelter where Zeke, the office cat, had knocked the phone off the hook and accidentally dialed 911 by sleeping on the phone.
Fortunately Zeke and everyone else at the animal shelter is fine. Still it’s nice to know that if trouble arises, Zeke knows how to reach the police in a hurry, which could cause problems if Zeke decides that his owners aren’t feeding him the best cat food so he might call the cops on them until they buy him better food.
