Many people love cats so much that they wind up collecting them like cheap collectibles. The big difference between cats and ordinary collectibles is that cats need to have enough space to roam around. That’s why Jean Whitaker, 59, was cited for possible animal abuse charges after she kept 79 cats in a house she was supposed to vacate.
Arizona animal shelters have taken in the 79 cats and plan to release them for adoption if they’re healthy enough. Although hoarding cats might seem like a humane gesture, it’s actually a form of abuse if you can’t keep the cats clean and healthy.
