If you happen to be in Minneapolis near the end of August, be sure to check out the International Cat Video Festival where you can (what else?) enjoy the latest videos of cats. In response, Chicago has launched its own version of the cat video festival but instead of highlight Internet videos of cats, the Chicago festival plans to show actual films about cats that you may not find on the Internet.

Part of the festival includes the 1984 documentary “If This Ain’t Heaven” (27 minutes, from filmmaker Roberta Cantow) about a middle-aged laborer and the conversations he has with his cat named Africa. If this sounds different enough from the typical Internet cat video, you may prefer Chicago’s cat festival instead.
