Playing with your cat might seem like a trivial task, but it can be extremely important for your cat. First of all, play of all type acts as a way to practice important skills. For a cat, play helps them exercise their hunting, stalking, and punching skills.
Play also helps keep a cat healthy through exercise and mentally alert through problem solving. Still another use for play is to release aggression and tension in a safe environment (at least for the cat, never mind the scratch marks on the human’s arm).
