Studying pictures of cats uploaded to photosharing services, including Flickr, Twitpic and Instagram, Owen. Mundy, a professor at Florida State University,  extracted latitude and longitude coordinates that many cameras attach to each image. Using this information, Mr. Munday could then accurately locate the area where the cat (and its owner) lived.

So if you’re worried about the National sEcurity Agency spying on you, they may already know who you are and where you are because of the cat pictures you uploaded to the Internet. Who knew that your cat could squeal on you so easily?
