In Manhattan, a 4 1/2-year-old cat named Gizmo fell nine-stories from a penthouse and survived with only broken tooth and scratches. Apparently Gizmo tried climbing on the terrace railing but slipped. “I can’t believe he’s alive!” Gizmo’s owner, Samuel Jacobs, said.
When Jacobs spotted Gizmo on the third-floor landing, he rushed Gizmo to a vet, fearing internal injuries. “Ten minutes later, they come out and say, believe it or not, your cat is fine,’” Jacobs said. “I still can’t believe it. I just look at him and think, ‘that’s one lucky cat.’”
