If you’re ever trapped on a lifeboat with a cat in the middle of the ocean, rest assured that the cat will likely survive because cats can actually drink sea water. Their kidneys can expel salt from sea water, allowing the cat to drink and survive while any humans in a lifeboat will perish from dehydration. So who says people are superior to cats just because they have opposable thumbs?
Here’s another fun fact about cats. Most female cats are right pawed while male cats are left pawed. How scientists figured this out is a miracle in itself, especially since scientists can’t even explain why cats meow except that cats only meow at humans, but not at other cats.
