Danielle Marie Coogan embarked on a mission to save hundreds of abandoned felines on an island on the Niagara River. To save the abandoned cats, she asked for donations and quickly got overwhelmed by donations from multiple cat lovers.
Coogan plans to humanely trap as many adult cats as she could so they can be vaccinated, sterilized and re-released. She said that “Many of these cats have been born on the island & this is the only life they’ve ever known, some have been dumped by irresponsible owners who think souls are disposable.”
