Most cat people love any type of cat that wanders in their path. However if you’re looking for a particularly furry cat, then you want to look at the Norwegian Forest Cat. This type of cat has long hair to protect it from the cold in Norway along with strong claws for climbing.

Just remember that all that hair will likely shed so the Norwegian Forest Cat will be a better cat for a cold climate than anywhere in Arizona or Nevada. While Norwegian Forest Cats can take care of themselves outside, they can also adapt to the indoors as well. Considering that their long hair can catch burrs or get tangled, be prepared to brush your Norwegian Forest Cat regularly to keep its fur clean.
