America may have Grumpy Cat, but England now has Pixie the Sourpuss, a two year-old Persian pedigree, a breed not known for their cheery look. With her drooping brows, doleful eyes and down-turned mouth Pixie looks as if she is about to burst into tears at any moment.

Perhaps the differences in the two cats reflect the differences between America and England. In general, Americans have a reputation for being mad and pushy to get their way while England has a more cultured reputation of being refined and sophisticated while brutally colonizing Third World countries in the past. In any event, just looking a the faces of cats can bring a smile to your face, even if the cat’s face is grumpy or sad.
