For an exercise in futility, try trapping a cat. One curious cat owner made a circle on the floor using masking tape to see if the power of a circle would lure a cat inside and trap it. While one cat investigated the circle from the outside, a second cat did venture inside, thereby setting the “trap”.

Unfortunately, the masking tape circle failed to contain the cat. Even worse, the cats soon discovered that masking tape could be ripped off the floor, thereby destroying the cat trap. The next time you need to trap a cat, you can rule out the use of masking tape drawn in a circle on the floor.
