If you live in Saskatoon, Canada, watch out for a deadly feline disease called Panleukopenia. Symptoms of Panleukopenia include depression, lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, vomiting, and self-biting on the tail, lower back, and legs.

“When you take a stroll, go from your car to the house, or do yard work, the virus can come into your house on your clothes and shoes,” Patricia Cameron, the executive director of the Saskatoon SPCA, said. The virus can survive for up to a year in certain environments.

If you think your cat has this disease, take it to a vet as soon as possible. Even indoor cats are vulnerable to this virus so get your cat vaccinated as soon as possible.
