Everyone thinks that dogs are a man’s best friend, but don’t rule out cats. Although most cats treat humans with total disdain, cats can detect the emotional mood of humans. That’s because cats and humans have similar neurological, hormonal, and genetic makeups which means people are far more alike to cats than they are different.
So if you ever have the urge to treat someone rudely, chances are good that’s your cat person coming out. That also means that when you’re feeling depressed or sad, your cat can sense your mood and may comfort you or try to exploit your emotional vulnerability for all its worth to get some catnip and treats out of the deal while it can.
