If you’re familiar with the technology world, you know that companies like Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung sue and get sued almost everyday. Yet in the relatively benign world of kitty litter, the lawsuits are going to start flying soon between Nestle, the makers of Tidy Cat, and Oli-Dri, which patented their kitty litter back in 1999.

Oli-Dri now claims that Nestle is infringing on their patent and demands monetary compensation. Nestle denies the charges so the kitty litter battle may have to be settled in court. In the meantime, try litter from both companies and see if your cat can tell the difference. Maybe cats will have a better nose for detecting a fake than humans ever can do.
