The problem with cats is that they bred too rapidly. Another problem with cats is that they’re so cute and cuddly that it’s hard not to want to help feral cats out by feeding them. Unfortunately, that’s causing a cat overpopulation boom in Yuba City.
That’s why Yuba City may pass a ban prohibiting people from feeding feral cats. Apparently compassionate people feeding feral cats allows them to thrive and breed, causing more headaches. Although the compassion is in the right place, the end result are too many cats that need to be euthanized for lack of a good home.
As much as you might want to feed a feral cat, consider resisting the urge to do so. You may be making a cat happy today, but you could be creating pain and suffering for new born kittens sometime in the future due to your generosity.
