Everyone knows that cats can be curious and everyone has heard of a cat climbing a tree and getting stuck in it. In Oregon, a 17-pound Siamese cat named Liam went one step further and climbed a power pole.
Jennifer Kagay and her husband, Jeff, were lying in bed early Tuesday when they heard a “bang” and the power went out. They went outside and discovered that Liam had climbed a transformer and gotten shocked. Then Liam tried to climb down but fell 25 feet to the ground.
Despite the fall and shock, Liam is still alive, but may have one leg amputated. The lesson is that curiosity really can kill the cat.
