Mikey, an eight month old cat, had three kittens, but they were born too early. One by one, each kitten weakened and died. After the last kitten passed away, Mikey would search frantically for her offspring and acting very depressed as her breasts were engorged with milk.
Mikey’s owner contacted a cat rescue organization that just happened to have rescued three abandoned kittens. This rescue organization was trying to nurse the kittens on their own so they decided to see if Mikey would take to these three new kittens.
After a brief moment, Mikey immediately accepted them as her own. Now both the momma cat and her three new kittens are doing just fine, helping each other at just the right moment.
