There are too many homeless pets, but there are actually plenty of good homes everywhere. To increase awareness of homeless pets, the Ottawa Humane Society has gotten actors to dress up as Star Wars villains and pose while holding pets that need a good home.
The idea is to bring more attention to homeless pets and encourage people to share these images in hopes of getting more people willing to consider adopting a pet for themselves. If a Star Wars villain finds cats cute and cuddly, perhaps they might not be so bad after all. Then again if even Darth Vader has trouble keeping cats from scratching the couch or shredding the curtains, perhaps the rest of us won’t feel so bad after all.
