What do you do if you’re an animal shelter with an abundance of cats that need good homes? You can hope people will magically show up and adopt one or more cats, but hope is rarely a successful strategy. Instead, you can do what the Best Friends Animal Society in Salt Lake City and Los Angeles has done, which is to wrap kittens up in blankets and market them as purritos.

The idea is to get people’s attention. Once you do that, chances are much greater that someone will see a kitten in a burrito and make the effort to rush out and adopt one. It’s all about marketing. WE all know that cats can be wonderful companions, now we just need to use social media to convince others of their appeal as well.
