You can’t just get one cat. Not only will that one cat likely be lonely without others of its kind, but it also won’t provide you as much entertainment as having two cats. If you like cats enough to get one, then you might as well double you pleasure by getting two.
Of course once you see what destruction one can can wrought, you’ll see that having two cats destroying your household won’t be much different. They’ll just have each other to share the blame. Otherwise two cats is no more trouble than having one cat to care for other than twice the cost, twice the hassle, and twice the emotional pain.
So get two cats. The cats will be happy and that’s all that really matters regardless of how you feel.
